Hunsur: The tenth six-month intensive course on Tibetan language and Buddhist philosophy successfully concluded today on 30 December 2023 at Snowland school of Gyumed monastery based in Hunsur, Karnataka. The six-month course, which began on 1July 2023, is organised annually by the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration, in collaboration with Gyumed monastery.
The chief guest at the concluding ceremony was Secretary Chime Tseyang of Department of Religion and Culture, joined by special guest, member of Tibetan Parliament Migyur Dorjee, Rabgayling Settlement Officer Tenzing Dhadon, and the principal of the Snowland school of Gyumed monastery.
The top students were presented with excellence awards and the participants received certificates.
A total of 19 students from 10 different settlements are taking part in this six-month course.
The objective of the course is to acquaint Tibetan youth with Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, the five major treatises and Tibetan grammar, prose, and poetry.
