The Department of Religion and Culture (DRC), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamsala, in partnership with The College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, is happy to announce the Summer Language and Cultural Immersion Program exclusively for young Tibetans enrolled in Indian schools and growing up in the host country’s culture. The program aims to build a bridge for this segment of Tibetan children to teach Tibetan language, culture, and make them closer to the larger Tibetan community.
Participants will gain a general understanding of their cultural heritage, tradition, community in exile and issues associated with Tibet. They will also experience and engage in the challenges and possibilities that confront the exile Tibetan community which is striving to preserve traditional cultural values and identity in the context of globalization. The SLCIP program will offer academic work, language study, Social Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning, and cultural immersion incorporated by field trips to enable first-hand experience.
The DRC will facilitate the Program whereas IBD-CHTS, Sarah will provide teachers and lecturers for the program. Whole classes of the program will be taking place in CHTS, Sarah campus except for community tours and cultural site visits.

Program Duration: Three Weeks (Monday May 16 to June 4, 2022)
Registration Deadline: April 30, 2022 Saturday (This program will accept only 25-30 students on first-come first serve basis. Please apply immediately.)
