Dharamshala: The Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration, successfully concluded its “2nd Training on Primary Teaching for Monastic Teachers” with a brief closing ceremony on 20 September 2024 at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarah.
During the ceremony, Passang Tsering, the Principal of the college, presented certificates to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training. Following that, two participants shared feedback on behalf of the group, highlighting the program’s impact.
In his address, a representative from the Department of Religion and Culture emphasised that this training follows the unanimous resolution adopted during the 14th Tibetan Religious Conference in 2019. He further said that the second edition of this training was organised to enhance the teaching skills of monastic tutors so that they could ultimately benefit their students through the application of modern pedagogical methods.
Over the past month and a half, the participants received instructions in Positive Classroom Management, Teaching Pedagogy, Lesson Planning, SEE Learning, and Language Teaching Techniques, along with a field visit to local schools for practical experience.
