75th Anniversary of the World Fellowship of Buddhists Marked in Bangkok

 

Bangkok, Thailand: From 4 to 7 December 2025, Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Religion and Culture, CTA, attended the 75th anniversary of the founding of the World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB). The visit coincided with several major events, including the 31st General Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, the 22nd World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Conference, and the 13th Council Meeting of the World Buddhist University.

On 5 December, a special discussion titled “Cultivating Wisdom and Well-Being in the AI Era: A Buddhist Vision for the Future” was held at Vajiravudh College at 9:00 am. Later that day, at 1:00 pm, the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth Council Meeting took place, followed by the first session of the General Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhists. In the afternoon, at 3:30 pm, an Executive Committee Meeting of the World Fellowship of Buddhists was convened, followed by the 13th Council Meeting of the World Buddhist University.

The following day, participants gathered for the opening ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the World Fellowship of Buddhists. Subsequently, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, the second session of the General Conference was held. Thereafter, from 3:15 to 5:00 pm, a closing ceremony took place, successfully concluding the assembly.

On 7 December, participants took part in a cultural visit to two prominent temples in Bangkok: Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, Thailand’s second royal temple, and Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan.
