Dharamshala: The Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration, commenced its second training on ‘Primary Teachings for Monastic Teachers’ yesterday, 7 August 2024, at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah.

Secretary Dhondul Dorjee graced the training’s inaugural ceremony and stressed the imperativeness of incorporating contemporary pedagogical methods in educating monastic students while upholding the traditional system of schooling to the participants in his keynote address.

Likewise, the Principal of Sarah College, Passang Tsering, informed the participants about curriculums for the next 40 days training that will conclude on 20 September 2024.

A total of 16 monastic teachers from 11 Tibetan monasteries based in Southern India and Dharamshala took part in the training. Over the course of this training, the trainees will be imparted instructions on linguistic teaching, the study of instruction strategies, child psychology, SEE Learning, and literature and literary teaching methods.

In accordance with the resolution adopted during the 14th Tibetan Religious Conference in 2019, the primary objective of this training is to provide monastic teachers with modern pedagogical training.
