Ravangla: The Central Tibetan Administration participated in the long-life prayer offering to the 12th Drung Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche, organised by the former students’ committee, held at Densa Palchen Chosling, Sikkim, on 18 October 2024.

Representing the Central Tibetan Administration, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, as the incumbent Kalon (Minister) of the Department of Religion and Culture, made the offering to 12th Drung Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche during the long-life prayers.

The prayer offering of long life was graced by the presence of religious figures such as Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche, Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche, and Khen Lodoe Dhonyoe Rinpoche, along with monks and nuns who were also present at the ceremony.

Other notable attendees included the royal parents of Her Majesty Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan. More than a thousand devoted laypeople and monastics, including abbots, lamas, and representatives from various religious organisations from abroad, gathered for the event.

Also representing the Central Tibetan Administration were Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, members of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, including Parliamentarians Juchen Kunchok Chodon, Parliamentarian Ven Tenpa Yarphel, Parliamentarian Ven Geshe Lharampa Atuk Tseten, Parliamentarian Ven Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen, Parliamentarian Tsaneytsang Dhondup Tashi, Parliamentarian Ven Geshe Monlam Tharchin, Parliamentarian Ven Kunga Sotop, and Parliamentarian Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar.

Additionally, Secretary Dhondul Dorjee from the Department of Religion and Culture and Secretary Lobsang Jinpa from the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama along with Tibetan Kunpheling Settlement Officer, Tenzin Lekshey were also present.

In addition, yesterday morning, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, accompanied by members of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, had the honour of a special audience with Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche.
