Dharamshala: Secretary Chime Tseyang, Department of Religion and Culture (DRC), attended and addressed the 4th Khenpo Enthronement Ceremony of Ngagyur Palyul Choekhorling held in Bir settlement on 20 October 2022.
The enthronement ceremony was also attended by chief guests Kyabje Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, and Tibetan Parliamentarian Wangdue Dorjee, along with representatives from local organizations and institutions.
Kyabje Rigo Tulku Rinpoche, the Chancellor of the monastery, and Kyabje Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche conferred Khenpo certificates and hats to the fourteen honourees who were enthroned following their affirmations to serve Dharma. Subsequently, the other guests at event congratulated the enthroned khenpos with ceremonial scarves.
Felicitating the honorary recipients, the DRC Secretary applauded the founder of the monastery Rigo Tulku Rinpoche for preserving the lineage of Nyingma school and appealed to continue his contributions to promoting Buddhism.
The ceremony was also addressed by Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Chancellor Rigo Tulku, and Khenchen Pema Sherab, while the Abbot of the monastery, Ugen Rigzin, introduced the institute to the gathering.
