Department of Religion and Culture Interviews Candidates for Tibetan Arts and Culture Fund-2026

 

Dharamshala:  The Department of Religion and Culture of the Central Tibetan Administration conducted three days of interviews from 25 to 27 May 2026 at the DoRC hall for applicants of the 8th Tibetan Arts and Culture Fund (TACF), through both in-person and online-format.

On the morning of 25 May at 9:30 AM, a selection committee interviewed 26 applicants for the projects related to Tibetan traditional and modern arts. Applicants residing near Dharamshala attended the interviews in person, while those from other regions participated online.

Over the following two days, 43 applicants conducting research on Tibetan language and culture were interviewed both in person and online, alongside the evaluation of thier project proposals.

In this year’s project, a total of 69 applicants from various individuals and organisations participated. Selected applicants will receive financial assistance ranging from ₹100,000 to ₹300,000 (one to three lakh Indian rupees) for their respective projects. All projects must be initiated and completed within one year.

This programme, launched in 2017 with support and funding from USAID, aims to preserve and sustain Tibet’s unique traditional and contemporary culture. It provides financial assistance to Tibetan artists, researchers, and cultural institutions in India for professional development and sustainability. To date, the programme has provided grants to a total of 176 individuals.
