Dharamshala: The eleventh six-month intensive course on Tibetan Language and Buddhist Studies organised by the Department of Religion and Culture (CTA), in collaboration with Gyudmey Snowland School, commenced on 1 July 2024 in Hunsur.

The inaugural ceremony of the six-month intensive course was graced by the presence of Jetsun Ngawang Sangey, abbot of the Gyudmey Monastery, along with Tibetan Parliamentarian Migyur Dorjee, Tibetan Settlement Officer Tenzin Dadon, representatives of the Department of Religion and Culture Tenzin Dawa and Tenzin Norbu, and Principal and Headmaster of the Gyudmey Snowland School.

The guests emphasised the importance of Tibetan Buddhism and traditions in their respective addresses, unanimously echoing the need to preserve and promote these cherished aspects of their culture.

A total of 28 participants part took in this course that will concluded on 31 December 2024. Tibetan literature, grammars, buddhist dialectics and other major basic texts of Tibetan buddhism will be covered during the half-year course.

The six-month intensive course on Tibetan language and Buddhist studies is an initiative to preserve Tibet’s rich religious and cultural heritage, as envisioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
