Norbulingka Institute Celebrates 30th Founding Anniversary

 

Dharamshala: On 8 November 2025, the Norbulingka Institute celebrated its 30th founding anniversary with Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner Yeshi Wangmo as the chief guest and Dhondul Dorjee, Secretary of the Department of Religion and Culture, as the special guest.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Lobsang Nyendak, Director of Norbulingka Institute, followed by the presentation of the annual report by the Institute’s Executive Director.

Following this, the chief guest, together with the Director of the Institute, presented an honourary award to the Institute’s former Director Kalsang Yeshi, who also served as the former Kalon of the Department of Religion and Culture, on behalf of all members of the Institute.

The chief guest also conferred service recognition certificates to staff members who have completed 30 years of service, while the special guest presented certificates to 33 staff members marking 20 years of service. Likewise, the Institute’s Director presented certificates of commendation to the supervisors of traditional Tibetan arts and crafts.

Thereafter, the chief guest delivered an address to the students and staff, followed by a vote of thanks from the Managing Director of the Norbulingka Institute.

The celebration concluded with vibrant traditional Tibetan performances by the Institute’s teachers and staff.
