Secretary Dhondul Dorjee Attends Closing Ceremony of 3rd Training on Primary Education Teaching for Monastic Teachers

 

Dharamshala: A 45-day 3rd Teaching Methodology Training on Primary Education for Monastic Teachers, organised by the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), concluded at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies (CHTS), Sarah, earlier this morning on 15 May 2026.

The closing ceremony was attended by Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Religion and Culture, who presented ceremonial scarves and certificates to the 12 monks and nuns who successfully completed the training programme. In his address, he spoke on the history and objectives of the training programme, the current state of Tibetan religion and culture, and the general activities undertaken by the Department of Religion and Culture.

Passang Tsering, Principal of CHTS Sarah, delivered a summary report on the training programme and promised continued online teaching support for the trainees. Two trainee representatives also shared their experiences from the programme and offered feedback and suggestions for future training initiatives.

During the 45-day training programme, participants received instruction in official document writing, key literary subjects for teachers, children’s reading skills, language teaching methodologies and techniques, SEE Learning, special education, calligraphy, and other related subjects.

In addition, field visits were organised to nearby schools, including Upper TCV School in Dharamshala, Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School, and Tong-Len School, where participants engaged in teaching practice and classroom observation.
