Secretary Dhondul Dorjee Attends Inter-house Cultural Competition at Tibetan Children’s Village School, Suja

 

Dharamshala: As part of the year-long celebration marking His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary, Tibetan Children’s Village School, Suja, organised an inter-house cultural performance competition on 27 May 2025.

Secretary Dhondul Dorjee from the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration, attended the event as the chief guest, alongside Tibetan Parliamentarian Serta Tsultrim and President of the Tibetan Children’s Village, Sonam Sichoe. The event was also attended by members of the Local Tibetan Assembly from nearby settlements, Tibetan Settlement Officers, representatives from local monasteries, the General Secretary of TCV, and 40 former students of the school.

A total of 60 students participated in the competition, representing the school’s four houses: Nyatri, Triral, Trisong, and Songtsen. Triral house bagged the winning prize of overall competition.

Commending the participants and winners, chief guest Secretary Dhondul Dorjee emphasised the importance of preserving Tibet’s rich cultural and linguistic heritage. Addressing the younger generation in particular, he reminded them that this heritage is not only a treasure but also a responsibility to uphold. He then bestowed trophies to the winners.
