
Dharamshala: Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Religion and Culture (CTA) attended the launch of a 17-volume compilation of the compositions of the 6th Rakra Rinpoche, Tethong Thubten Chodar, marking his 100th birth anniversary. The event was held at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) on 18 December 2025.
Jointly organised by the LTWA and the family of Rakra Rinpoche, the event was also attended by Kasur (former Kalon) Tenzin Namgyal Tethong, LTWA Director Geshe Lhakdor, former Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzin Wangpo Tethong, members of the Tethong family, and other guests.
Following a ceremonial opening and the rendition of songs in praise of His Holiness the Dalai Lama by Kelsang Choekyi Tethong, the gathering was addressed by the compiler and editor of the collected works, Geshe Lobsang Yarphel, and LTWA Director Geshe Lhakdor.
Subsequently, the chief guest, Kasur Tenzin Namgyal Tethong, and LTWA Director Geshe Lhakdor jointly unveiled the multi-volume publication. The audience was then addressed by Kasur Tenzin Namgyal Tethong and former Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzin Wangpo Tethong.
During the programme, Yangkyar Dolma, a student of the LTWA, recited a poem composed by Rakra Rinpoche in honour of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 61st birthday.
The book launch event concluded with a song by Kelsang Choekyi Tethong, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by LTWA General Secretary Ngawang Yeshi.
