Dharamshala: Department of Religion and Culture (DRC) commenced interviewing applicants for the Tibetan Arts and Culture Fund (TACF) on 7 June.
The two-day selection was conducted via in-person interview for the applicants residing in and around Dharamshala, while the others were interviewed virtually by the four membered selection committee. The selection through interviews will continue tomorrow for the remaining applicants.
This year, 74 individuals and organisations applied to TACF, out of which 71 applicants have been qualified in the final round selection whose projects are research studies, translation, arts and performance, and publications.
The Department of Religion and Culture initiated the TACF program, funded by USAID, to support Tibetan artists and organisations who work for the preservation and promotion of Tibetan language, arts and culture. The department will grant between 1- 3 lakh rupees to chosen individuals and organisations.
