The Department of Religion and Culture (DRC), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamsala is pleased to announce the Summer Language and Cultural Immersion Program exclusively for young Tibetans enrolled in non Tibetan schools in India and Nepal at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah. The program aims to build a bridge for this segment of Tibetan children to teach Tibetan language, culture, and make them closer to the larger Tibetan community.

Participants will gain a general understanding of their cultural heritage, tradition, community in exile and issues associated with Tibet. They will also experience and engage in the challenges and possibilities that confront the exile Tibetan community which is striving to preserve traditional cultural values and identity in the context of globalization. The SCIP program will offer communication skills, Social Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning, Tibetan history, Buddhist philosophies and cultural immersion incorporated by field trips to enable first-hand experience.

Program Duration: Two Weeks (June 1 to 14, 2025)

Registration Deadline: May 17, 2025 Saturday

Seat: This program will accept only 25 students on first-come first serve basis

Facility: Accommodation, Meals and Travel allowances will be provided

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Tibetan students enrolled in Grade VIII to XII in Indian and Nepalese Schools
  • Attested Copy of applicant’s valid Green Book

 

Program course:

  • Language and Communication skills
  • Introduction to Tibetan Culture
  • Introduction of Basic Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy and Practices
  • Tibetan cultural dance and song
  • Mindfulness Meditation Course
  • SEE Learning

Weekend Program:

  • Visit Cultural institutions and CTA, Dharamsala
  • Visit Tibetan settlements and monasteries around Dharamsala.
