Dharamshala: Summer Immersion Program co-organised by the Department of Religion and Culture (DRC) and College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, for the Tibetan students (class 6 – 12) studying in Indian private schools concluded on 15 June 2022.
The program’s closing ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Dudul Dorje from DRC as chief guest, along with the Principal of the Sarah college Passang Tsering. The two addressed and bestowed certificates to the 21 participants during the event.
The Summer Immersion Program was funded by USAID, which aimed to impart Tibetan language to the participants as well as to make them aware of Tibetan religion, culture and current political status via touring Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan cultural institutions, monasteries, and local Tibetan settlements. The students were also taught Tibetan calligraphy, meditation, history, and traditional dance.
