
Dharamshala: Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Religion and Culture and Secretary Jampa Phunstok of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, attended the 21st founding anniversary of Tong-Len School (Tong-Len Charitable Trust) on 19 November 2025.
The event was also graced by Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzin Choezin, along with representatives from various Tibetan NGOs based in Dharamshala, including Thupten Tsering, Director of Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute; Geshe Kelsang, official translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama; Geshe Samten Gyatso, President of the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics; and Passang Tsering, Principal of the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah.
The chief guest of the event was Shri Raghubir Singh, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. Following his inauguration of the new school mess, the anniversary celebrations officially began. After the rendition of the Indian national anthem and the ceremonial lighting of a butter lamp by the chief guest, the students presented hymns dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
Ven. Jamyang (also known as Therchin Gyaltsen), the Director of the school, then delivered the welcome address, after which the students performed classical dances representing various regions of India.
Awards and souvenirs were presented during the event by the chief guest and the school’s Director, and a keynote address was delivered by Shri Raghubir Singh.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Brigid, a member of the school’s Board of Directors.
